Biography: Stephen McAteer - Irish Dance

fter becoming one of the most accomplished dancers of his generation, and having won an unprecedented nine Canadian Championships, six North American titles, two All-Ireland's and two World Championships, Stephen accepted an invitation to join another recording-breaking dance phenomenon - Riverdance. With the most successful dance show in history, he has toured Britain, North America and Australia. He also appears in the video "Riverdance - The Show," filmed at New York's legendary Radio City Music Hall.

Stephen has made countless television appearances with Riverdance, including the 1997 Grammy Awards and The Late Show with David Letterman.

n addition to Riverdance, he gives special performances as a soloist at festivals and concerts across North America. A respected dance master, accredited by the Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha (Dublin, Ireland), he is sought after for his expertise, and treasured for his gentle but effusive manner. While continuing to perform with Riverdance on Broadway, Stephen graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in May 2001 and is completing his Master of Health Sciences degree in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Toronto.
